One of the reasons chopping your pillow cushions can look amazing is that it creates a less-than uniform look while still maintaining a structured and modern look. The idea of “karate chopping” pillows has become an increasingly popular trend over the past few years.

Whether you choose to use the Karate Chop method or not we here at MAIROYAL Home Designs love the look and we hope that you do to. If you choose not to do the karate chop effect we are confident that our beautiful luxe fabric designs are sure to look good on any insert method that you choose.

*When inserting and removing your pillow inserts to and from the pillow covers, we advise you to fold inserts (like a taco) to reduce tension on zipper and thread while packing your pillow.

*Must purchase a cover in order to purchase an insert. Pillow will ship decorated for you when you purchase both the cover and the insert.

Feather insert care - It’s one of the benefits of the incredible natural materials we use to fill our down and feather pillows. These natural fills are special not only for the support and softness that we love, but also for their easy maintenance.

Washing Your Down Feather Inserts
* Quantity – Always wash two pillows at a time to keep your washer balanced on the spin cycle
* Water Temperature – cold water, do not use fabric softener, not recommended because it can coat the down and feathers and reduce its fluff
* Spin Speed  Use the fastest speed to take as much moisture out as possible
* Rinse – Add an extra rinse cycle to make sure all the soap is gone
* Soap – Gentle soap without additives

Drying Your Down Feather Inserts
* Temperature – Hot, warm or low; your choice - be aware that some shrinkage of the fabric can occur with warmer temperatures
* Dry time – Be patient, it can take multiple cycles depending on your machines and it’s important to get your pillow completely dry
* Clumping or Odor – These are signs that your pillow is not dry yet. You want it to be completely dry to prevent mold.
* Dry Test – Hand fluff your pillows in between each cycle. The pillows may still be damp inside even though they feel dry to the touch. It’s always better to err on the side of more drying time than less.
Optional:
* Clean Tennis Balls or Dryer Balls – Add one to three balls to speed up your dry time. It will sound like they are beating up your dryer but they don’t actually hurt it.
* Dryer Sheets – Add a dryer sheet to freshen your pillow.

FLUFF EACH DECORATIVE PILLOW FOR THE DESIRED EFFECT: Simply pick up each pillow, grab, and fluff them as needed. Get the full plump look so that your living space looks like a scene out of a magazine. Fluff and chop them as much as you want at your discretion , this will provide a very attractive firm and fluffy look to your covers. Happy Chopping!
